Treat fine wrinkles, uneven skin tones and texture, pigmentation and other visible signs of aging with with the world’s first hybrid fractional laser skin treatment – HALO Hybrid Fractional Laser. This powerful, dual laser technology penetrates deeper and more effectively into your skin effectively causing it to tighten and produce new collagen while simultaneously removing old damaged tissue layers.
HALO laser is the world’s first dual laser that simultaneously treats two different layers of your skin. The first laser – called the ablative laser – treats the more superficial or surface layer of your skin to remove old, damaged tissue. This is achieved in a point-by-point or fractionated method. The second laser – called the non-ablative laser – treats by heating the deeper layers of your skin to cause a coagulative or skin tightening effect while at the same time stimulating fibroblastic cells to produce new collagen and elastin. The combination of the two lasers acting in sync make HALO laser the most effective and powerful method for rejuvenating aging skin.
This depends on the extent of your skin damage, your current skin issues, and your expectations. Our dermatologists will make a full evaluation of your skin before the treatment and discuss how many session you may need. For long-term best results and maintenance, anywhere from 1-2 treatments is recommended every 1-2 years.
HALO treatment delivers two different wavelengths into the skin at the same time as opposed to most other lasers which are single lasers. The benefit of the treatment is it addresses many different skin concerns such as large pores, hyperpigmentation, brown spots, age spots, acne scars, fine lines and wrinkles, loosening or lax skin and overexposed, sun damaged skin.
About 40 minutes to 1 hour prior to the treatment, a local anesthetic will be put on your skin to decrease pain sensitivity to the laser. However, it is common during the treatment to experience some mild discomfort or a ‘snapping’ sensation as the as the laser moves over thinner areas of skin with less underlying fat padding. The HALO device also has a built-in skin cooling skin to protect your skin from any harsh effects of the laser, thermal heat.
Attaining smooth, flawless, younger looking skin depends on several factors including those of genetics, diet and lifestyle. For each person, the natural progession of age and its visible signs on the skin can vary. How long the effects of a particular session will last depends on your skin, the issues you have, and your body’s natural aging process. HALO laser treatment is suitable for all skin types and ages with results that can be dramatic and quite amazing.
Compared with previous, more traditional lasers, the recovery time for HALO is fast with little downtime. Immediately following the treatment, your face may feel warm and there will be swelling and reddness. This will last a few days. By approximately day 3-4, the swelling should go down, the reddness should turn to a more bronze color and the skin should begin to flake off.
Depending on the intensity of the treatment you receive, you will most likely prefer to take a few days off following the treatment. Once the reddness, swelling and peeling have dissipated, you are ready to return to your normal daily routine and work. The doctor will prescribe a strong sunscreen to protect your skin from the skin.
HALO laser resurfacing can sometimes trigger herpes, so you will be given acylovir for a 10 day period.
You will begin to see the results of the treatment within 2-5 days after the treatment as the redness, swelling go down and peeling ceases. Pigmentation brown spots may take up to 2-3 weeks to fade. Regeneration of the deeper dermis layer of the skin continuously improves over the course of several months as the production of new collagen builds up. Proper skin care and protection from the sun can make the results last for up to several years. Follow up treatments can give help you achieve even better results.
Although HALO treatment (ablative laser part) is only minimally invasive, after the treatment we recommend that you stay in Budapest for an adequate recovery time of 4-5. During this time, the reddness, swelling and peeling should go down and if there is any issue that needs attention, you will be able to have a full checkup and any follow up treatment can be provided.
Immediately following the treatment, the skin can become red, swollen and perhaps itchy. These symptoms will subside after a few days. Although rare, some other complications or side effects can develop from HALO laser treatment. These can include infection(herpes), aggravation of rosacea and hyperpigmentation.
Although HALO laser skin treatment is not meant to be a substitute for a facelift, it does tighten the skin.
HALO may not be the treatment of choice for recurring melasma. Melasma treatment may involve a combination of different treatments which may include laser and/or other topical treatments.
Treatment with HALO laser is designed to completely rejuvenate the tone and texture of your skin, decrease fine lines and wrinkles, pigmentation, enlarged pores and scars. Your skin will become smoother in texture, brighter in complexion, and more elastic in tone. The ‘Halo Glow’ will restore your overall appearance and make you look younger.
Most commonly HALO is used to treat the face, neck and chest, but it can also be used to treat other areas of the body.
