Liposuction in Budapest, Hungary is quickly becoming one of the most sought out cosmetic treatments. Now you can contour your body and enjoy one of Europe’s most exciting destinations.
Liposuction is one of the most popular forms of cosmetic treatment today. Special small cannulas inserted under the skin makes it possible to remove unwanted body fat from different areas of the body. These areas of fat accumulation are usually stubborn and resistant to diet and exercise. Liposuction is usually performed for personal and aesthetic reasons. The most troublesome areas treated may be the abdomen, inner and outer thighs, waist, hips and upper arms. But liposuction can also be done in areas such as the knees, ankles, double chin and face.
At Medi Tours Hungary, we perform primarily power assisted liposuction (PAL) and laser lipolysis (SMART LIPO) at our clinics. These two forms of liposuction are regarded around the world as the most effective and permanent forms of body fat removal. In most cases, both types of liposuction can even be combined to tackle different troublesome areas. Which procedure is used depends on which body area(s) is being treated and your plastic surgeon’s preference. Studies show that the best results with liposuction depend more on having a highly experienced plastic surgeon rather than on the particular type of liposuction he/she is using.
The results of liposuction are permanent and with proper diet, lifestyle and exercise the fat should not return to the treated areas. Immediately after the procedure, you may not see the results due to swelling of the tissues in the areas where the fat was removed. This swelling will gradually decrease over subsequent weeks and months with final results around 2-3 months.
Liposuction is most effective on the upper and lower abdomen, the waist, flanks, around the buttocks, hips, upper arms, inner and outer thighs and under the chin. Other areas that can treated are the knees, face, ankles and back/bra areas.
Liposuction can be done alone or combined with most other procedures. Most popular combinations are with a tummy tuck, breast reduction, breast lift, breast augmentation, thigh lift, body lift and face lift.
Depending on where and how much liposuction you will have, the surgery may take anywhere from 1-4 hours. With smaller amounts of liposuction the surgeon may use just a local anaesthetic. With larger amounts, you may need to have a full general and stay in the hospital/clinic for a night’s recovery. At your personal consultation, the surgeon will go over the procedure, access your medical health status and background and review all the risks and expected outcomes of the treatment.
The recovery from liposuction is usually quite quick. Depending on how much fat is removed from your body and from what areas, downtime is not more than just a few days. After this period, you will be able to get up and back on your feet and slowly return to your normal routine and work. You may need to wear a compression garment for 4-6 weeks post treatment. During this time, it’s best to refrain from heavy physical activities like sports. Final results from liposuction are usually seen 2-3 months later when all the swelling has gone.
After liposuction, it is highly recommended that you follow healthy eating habits and overall good diet. Overeating and bad diet can lead to weight gain not only in the treated areas, but in other areas of the body and subsequently lead to a deterioration in your health.
The risks of having liposuction if you are a healthy individual is small. All the main risks will be explained to you at your consultation by the surgeon before any surgery takes place. Ideal candidates for liposuction are individuals with no history of a serious medical or health condition, non-smokers, 30% within the range of their ideal weight and have firm, elastic skin tone and muscle.
At the beginning of the treatment, whether under general anaesthesia or just a local anaesthetic, small injections are given to the targeted areas. A sterile liquid solution is infused into the area to control bleeding and separate the skin from the underlying fatty tissue. A small cannula(tube) is inserted directly to the fatty tissue area to loosen or break up the fat that will subsequently be sucked out by a vacuum-like tube attached to the cannula. With SMARTLIPO, the laser probe inserted into the fat melts the fat cells into a liquid that will be either suctioned out or drained out by natural body processes. At the end of the surgery the cannula will be removed and the small wound will be closed with a suture.
